Huddleson Shibori napkins are the perfect low maintenance cotton napkin for everyday use throughout the year.
Shibori is the Japanese word for a variety of ways of embellishing textiles by manipulating cloth and securing it before dyeing. Rather than treating cloth as a two-dimensional surface, with shibori it is given a three-dimensional form by folding, crumpling, stitching, plaiting and twisting.
Huddleson worked with a fabric mill in Japan to use the finest Japanese cotton which is then tied with thread before dyeing to create an exceptionally small-scale pattern of white circles against a backdrop of Indigo, Olive Green, Orange, Dusty Pink and Red. And because of the painstaking process of creating them, each piece has its own unique subtle irregularities.
